About the Role
• Integral part of building the best integrated reporting function for the Group by driving the enhancements in systems, processes and people
• Provide insight to management, execute and roll out agreed/approved plans
• Provide guidance and technical advice on accounting and reporting matters to other Group functions and business units, including for projects such as Group initiatives and corporate transactions
• Ensure accountability of deliverables performed by Group Financial Solution (GFS).
• Deliver financial reports on a timely manner and conformed to AIA Group policies and standards
• Business partner of business units from a financial reporting and technical perspective
• Support stakeholder management through delivering value propositions to relevant internal and external stakeholders and support business and financial performance management
Roles and Responsibilities:
IFRS reporting and consolidation
- Plan and monitor IFRS reporting and consolidation end-to-end process
- Produce IFRS group reporting under applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead the design, implementation and communication of new/revised accounting policies or/and practices as well as accounting or/and reporting for new transactions
- Support projects such as Group initiatives, corporate transactions, local initiatives from IFRS reporting perspective and expense initiatives
- Monitor progress of process supported by GFS team and review deliverables produced by GFS team
- Provide guidance and technical advice to Group functions and business units for accounting and reporting matters
- Support review/audit by external auditors
Analytics and Reports
- Implement and oversee analytical approaches and methodologies
- Prepare financial reports and management reports with insightful analyses
Local business units support
- Proactively work with local business units on accounting and reporting matters
- Support management reporting and planning from actual accounting and reporting perspective
- Liaise and be the point of contact with local business units for accounting and reporting matters
Others
- Regular review of process owned and challenge the status quo
- Lead/drive change projects or process enhancement, plan and deliver change in a timely and quality manner
- Take an active role for ongoing GFS management and process improvement
- Other ad hoc assignments upon management request
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Degree/Master holder in finance / accounting or other business disciplines
- Qualified Accountant with regional exposure in a multinational environment
- Sound IFRS knowledge and experience
- Minimum twelve years strong proven experience in financial reporting functions
- Wide exposure in life insurance industry is a must
- Team player, driven, self-motivated, flexible and enjoy challenges
- Strong business mindset
- Strong organisation skills, multi-tasking, problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills, good command of spoken and written English; fluent in spoken and written Chinese is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; SAP is a plus
