Job Description:

The Fuel Marketing Manager is a pivotal role responsible for the planning, budget management, execution, growth, and evaluation of RaceTrac’s fuel marketing. This individual will drive the execution of integrated campaigns, promotions and products and is responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of campaign creative content strategy and will partner with our media team on digital and traditional media for traditional fuel and alternative fuel audiences (i.e., EV). This individual will partner with our fuel pricing team on initiatives, in addition to working cross functionally within the marketing team, in tight partnership with our loyalty marketing team. They will be the Subject Matter Expert for overall fuel products marketing. This individual is proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented in their approach and represents one of the key experts on fuel programs both internally and externally. Up to 15% travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the fuel team with strategic brand planning and initiatives for fuel products, including identifying, understanding, and prioritizing opportunities to grow the fuel business with RaceTrac. Includes helping identify new vendors/partners, competitive benchmarking and making recommendations based on competitive landscape particularly around loyalty-driven fuel discounts.
  • Collaborates with members of the fuel team to provide strategic direction and tactical recommendations.
  • Develops marketing strategies to drive near and long-term growth for fuel.
  • Leads all aspects of integrated campaigns across marketing channels, including traditional and digital media and loyalty to meet marketing objectives:
    • Partners with Fuel Team, Promotions Manager, Insights and Analytics, and Loyalty Marketing to establish clear and actionable campaign goals for briefs to provide a benchmark for success.
    • Leads the agency briefing process, from drafting the brief with actionable insights and goals, to collaborating with internal stakeholders to appropriately reflect business objectives for each campaign
    • Oversees all aspects of campaign execution, which includes internal alignment, leading agencies, partnering with Sr. Creative Lead to compile creative feedback, streamlining production, collaboration with Media Team in developing and executing media plans and Loyalty Marketing for campaign and in-app activations. Responsible for ongoing measurement and optimizations in partnership with Marketing Analytics as needed.
    • Determines unique ways to market fuel to guests, including value prop/discount programs and/or potential additions of new financial programs or products.
    • Spearheads a consolidated end of campaign report assessing campaign performance against goals and highlighting optimizations for future campaigns
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and channels to that which match our target audiences; provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Partners with Market Research on consumer insights to leverage when making brand-building decisions and supports research efforts by socializing among key stakeholders.
  • Partners with other Marketing team members to create streamlined processes to ensure brand consistency in all consumer-facing materials.
  • Collects and presents information from agency partners and trusted marketing sources on the latest in the marketing world to educate and inspire the organization.
  • Brings new and innovative fuel marketing ideas to the table.
  • If applicable, leads direct report development and coaching, including guiding and supporting their activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year College or University in Marketing, Business, or Communications preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • 5+ years of professional experience, fuel or energy marketing experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to transform a strategy and vision into actionable plans
  • Ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to understand and synthesize data and insights
