We are looking for a Marketing Specialist/Senior Marketing Specialist to join our marketing operations team, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The marketing operations team will provide overall marketing support to Franklin Templeton’s business in APAC (excluding Japan, India and Australia) across both retail and institutional businesses. This position will primarily focus on providing marketing support across various types of marketing literature such as factsheets, pitchbooks, presentations, commentaries, brochures, flyers, etc., provide support on event- related activities as well as to participate in projects pertaining to marketing materials by working closely with the global marketing operations support teams.

The role often entails a lot of coordination with local sales and marketing, client services, client marketing, product management and other areas within the firm and requires someone who can prioritize and provide creative, result-oriented ideas on the fly. The individual also needs to be hands- on in ensuring adherence to the quality standards and delivery deadlines set by each of the local markets, with a broad understanding of the local jurisdiction and business environment.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Work with in-country marketing teams to manage recurring production cycles for product and marketing materials, including fact sheets, commentaries, brochures, sales presentations, and other promotional materials for the region in English and Chinese, ensuring compliance with the local regulations in each of the country supported

  • Assist on maintaining and updating of pitchbooks and presentations in English and Chinese, which would involve formatting, editing slides and translation

  • Ensure local compliance needs are addressed/coordinate routing of materials to required reviewers

  • Ensure the timely delivery of regular updates to materials (e.g. monthly, quarterly, semi- annually, annually, ad hoc)

  • May need to work with local marketing teams on the developing of fund-related materials to support campaign and product launches

  • Provide overall marketing support to the marketing teams across core Asia

  • Provide information to regional clients and business partners regarding availability of new marketing materials and enhanced system/workflow tool functionality

  • Support marketing operations-related projects for the region to ensure better delivery of marketing materials

  • Effectively dealing with and managing stakeholders

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and quality of the marketing collaterals produced

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Preferably degree Major in Finance/Marketing or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Marketing/Sales Support/Client Servicing within Financial Services industry

  • Bilingual in both English and Mandarin with the ability to do copy-writing in Chinese is desirable

  • Ability to read both Traditional and Simplified Chinese is an advantage

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat required

  • Proficient with generating/interpreting fund-related statistical information

  • Meticulous attention to detail across all aspects of data, language and grammar, and general layout and presentation

  • Strong cultural intelligence and adaptable to work with teams across different time zones

  • Open-minded, independent, street smart and ability to think outside-of-the-box

  • Team-player and self-starter with strong work ethic and genuine interest in learning

  • Strong problem-solving ability and resourceful

  • Ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
