About the department

The Investments Governance team is responsible for establishing and maintaining the policy governance and forum/committee framework for abrdn’s Investments Business. This framework is critical in ensuring that activities within the business are controlled and governed according to expected standards.

About the role

In this role, you will act as an Assistant supporting the Head of Policy and Committee Governance, Investments, to ensure that the framework operates in line with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Committee/Forum Management: Ensure high-quality administrative support for the management of committees/forums to facilitate their operation efficiently, effectively, and robustly, ensuring they meet all relevant regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
    Provide effective diary management for forum meetings and draft outline minutes for certain meetings.

  • Document Preparation: Support the drafting of meeting documents, including agendas, action logs, minute templates, and preparation of forum packs.

  • Policy Framework Management: Provide administrative support to the Head of Policy and Committee Governance, Investments, in managing the policy framework and the annual Group Policies attestation process, as required.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across the team and relevant functions to follow up on actions and ensure papers are provided on time for forum meetings.

About the Candidate

  • Experience in an administrative support environment; ideally with either a legal or company secretarial background, though this is not essential as training will be provided. Experience in attending Board Meetings and providing hands-on support, including: Preparing agendas, Preparing board/committee packs, Coordinating board and/or board committee meetings and Drafting auditable minutes

  •  Evidence of a proactive and strategic working style, with flexibility to adapt to evolving governance changes and the ability to anticipate and manage issues effectively.

  • Experience managing a varied and demanding workload across functional projects.
