The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit. Our Blue Ring product line can support a variety of missions in medium Earth orbit out to the cislunar region.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and engineers, you will work as a Systems Engineer focused on Configuration and Data Management as well as Requirements management for the Blue Ring spacecraft program. You will establish a requirements database, defining and developing mission specific program requirements, as well as create the processes and strategies for managing requirements, design parameters, and technical performance measures for the vehicle. You will define and lead engineering change management as well as data management for submission and timing of contract deliverables for our customers. You will perform systems engineering change analysis activities including managing change requests, supporting change impact identification, facilitating change boards, and updating change implementation tasks. We are seeking an individual with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your work will have direct impact on all aspects of the spacecraft product line lifecycle.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead mission configuration and data management to ensure all contract deliverables meet customer expectations and are submitted on time
Manage and approve requirement changes and define the change control processes for requirements and design parameter changes
Manage the definition of interface requirements and their verification
Understand and define the relationships and traceability between requirements, design parameters, technical budgets, ICDs, program plans, and technical performance measures
Be the requirements database administrator
Perform compliance and traceability assessments and be able to report key metrics and issues effectively to program leadership and stakeholders
Lead in establishing requirements and verification Configuration Management structure
Assess and document proposed configuration changes
Identify and implement system and process improvements
Qualifications:
BA/BS in a related discipline
5+ years in product configuration management with proficiency in configuration management tools
3+ years in systems engineering performing activities such as requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation
Strong organizational and coordination skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Proficiency in product lifecycle management
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Active TS/SCI clearance required.
Desired:
Experience building and fostering positive US Government customer relationships
Experience as a requirements database administrator, DOORS Next preferred
Configuration Management, Windchill tool familiarity
CMII certification/training
Aerospace industry experience, preferably robotic spacecraft or satellites
Detailed knowledge of space systems design and requirements
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $120,060.00-$168,084.00Other site ranges may differ
