So what does a Payroll Analyst really do? Think of yourself as someone who will be responsible in supervising end to end payroll process handled by payroll specialists, so not just anyone is qualified for this role. We make sure we get the best of the best, after all, we are a ridiculously good company so we make sure our employees are top notch. Now we need your full concentration because it’s time to imagine what it’s like being a Payroll Analyst.

Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: that you will manage the workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it comes down to one thing: that you will perform payroll reconciliation when the need arrives.

As a Payroll Analyst, you will have to understand the entire payroll process from employee hiring, time entry accumulations, leave processing up to payroll generation. You will also review and ensure accurate and timely year-end reporting (Alphalist generation). You will also review the summary of payroll disputes every pay period and monitors the same up to its resolution. You also need knowledge in payroll end to end process, have understanding for proper taxation of employer paid benefits, and also the government premium deductions against employees’ salary components. Lastly, you must perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time. 

So, do you have what it takes to become a Payroll Analyst?

So, what is it we’re looking for? Well, since this is a payroll manager role we need someone who already has the skills to even call themselves one. So definitely someone with experience in being one, so if you have at least 4-6 years of experience in processing payroll from a computerized system -- then you’re qualified for this role. Oh yeah, since we’re going to be dealing with numbers , you must be a degree holder in Accountancy or anything equivalent. 

What other knowledge does this position need? Well, working knowledge of payroll best practices, working knowledge and experience in Oracle, and a strong knowledge of withholding tax on compensation, and government premium deductions. What skills do you need? You need to have strong skills in Google and Microsoft applications, have strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Also, organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing skills is a must as well. 

Lastly, we need someone who has strong work ethics, is a team player, someone detail-oriented, someone who can deal with confidential matters, and is able to communicate with various levels of management.
