Job Description:

Bread Packaging Associate

Reports to: Night Supervisor and Central Bakery Manager

Business Title: Bakery Production-Central Bakery

Job Profile: Clerk 2, Production-Central Bakery

Position Summary:

Responsible for slicing/packaging products to be passed along for delivery to the stores. Must be able to label and package product, check quality (appearance) of product. Distribution (pass-out) of product to the stores. Must be able to operate all machinery: Bread and bun slicers, bag clippers and label printers. Follow safe, sanitary food handling policy to prevent contamination and food borne illnesses.

Starting Wage:

$18.00

Start Time: 5pm; Monday, Wednesday-Saturday (Sunday and Tuesday Off)

Schedule may change based on production and holidays   

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience:

No experience required.

Responsibilities:

• Works under close supervision
• Repetitive work that is clearly defined, manual jobs
• Impacts own work

Qualifications:

Basic math and reading skills, ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to work with deadlines, since this is a production line it is easy to fall behind and hard to catch up. Flexible work schedule, weekends and holidays may be required.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently. Requires constant bending, stretching, and good eye/hand coordination.

Other Duties:

Clean work areas, wash equipment and take out trash. Varies according to production needs, occasionally may have to work in other production areas.

Environmental Conditions:

Exposed to constant indoor temperatures of 75 degrees or higher. Noise: loud machines. Chemicals: cleaning solutions.
