We are growing the UKI Retail team and building Category specialist pods to manage our growing cohort of National Account Partners and to accelerate our pitching and onboarding new exciting partners.
The Role
As a Retail Client Partner you will own the full spectrum Sales and Account Management for your Categories and our most strategic partner relationships. Leading a small team of Account Managers you will have responsibility for growing and developing your Retail categories with a focus on A. New Business: pitching and onboarding new Retail Partners and B. Growing your category: growing OV GTV and partner growth through World Class Account Management. You will use your Leadership and Strategic acumen to set the acquisition and growth strategy for your categories and lead the relationships with our most important Retail partners.
Working on a brand new vertical as we build it means you will often have to overcome challenges that Deliveroo is facing for the first time, shaping the future of the business and our relationship with our customers, riders and partners.
You will:
Lead a team of Account managers to Pitch, negotiate and onboard new retail partners onto the platform
Lead the full spectrum of your Categories and accounts growth strategy, building on opportunity and driving platform growth.
Define and execute jointly agreed growth plan for your portfolio of grocery partners
Coach your team to maximise the potential and opportunities of their accounts and working with colleagues in Operations and Marketing to deliver campaigns and improve service levels.
Owning the contract negotiation and renewal process with your grocery partners to agree terms that unlocks mutual value
Supporting Deliveroo’s business leaders in setting the longer-term commercial strategy and partner value proposition for the relevant grocery segments
Act as a leader for the growing Retail team, creating an inclusive, multi-functional team culture that drives team engagement and high-performance
The Candidate
This is a demanding role which will require drive, ambition and enthusiasm as we build Deliveroo's Retail exciting Retail Business. Requiring a high level of commercial skills, the successful candidate needs excellence in selling, negotiation and account management, combined with the passion and drive to shape the culture of an inclusive, sustainable high performing team.
The desired skills/experiences include:
A proven business performance record – must demonstrate a successful track record of revenue growth in account-facing roles
The ability to define and implement a B2B partner focused plan, developing creative solutions to complex problems. Bringing clarity to your team to ensure focus is on those actions that have maximum positive impact.
Well-developed influencing skills and the ability to flex your style to all levels and situations. Strong / structured communication skills with a clear aptitude to listen and respond to customer needs, adapting and engaging different audiences.
An experienced account leader with a growth mindset. Experience in managing a complex partner (mandatory) or portfolio of partners (preferred) including high-value commercial negotiations
A team player who can get the best from a multi-functional team, with a win-win/can-do attitude
