Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Program Manager, Office of Economic Development [R0144239].
ROLE of the POSITIONS
Leadership Initiative ("the Initiative”) advances global collaborative efforts to improve economic development, gaming regulation, and the diversity of the gaming industry though representation, visibility, and training. The Initiative works with regulators, operators, and suppliers to the gaming industry worldwide to develop and provides programming and training to enhance understanding of gaming industry; and advocate for consistent, effective standards where appropriate. The Initiative works to establish best practices by collaborating with thought leaders, practically apply those best practices within industry, and improve programming based on feedback and outcomes.
The Program Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the self-sustaining efforts associated with the Initiative's education, for profit activities, and self- sustainability and for delivering educational content to a stakeholder audience that is both virtual and in person.
Additionally, the virtual nature of our ability to deliver education and other programs has enabled the Initiative to attract and retain industry participants from around the world with much greater success. These factors require this position to actively direct and resource a pool of both instructors and attendees along with technology and logistics. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the profitability of each educational seminar that is conducted. As the Initiative continues to grow, the Program Manager will work to achieve full sustainability and be responsible for these efforts.
Under the direction of the Director, The Program Manager will be responsible for continuing to maintain the Initiative's reputation for exceptional educational experiences, programming, and training. The Program Manager will work with senior level gaming industry executives, regulators, public officials, conferences and other gaming stakeholders to support the Initiative's continued growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required with 3-5 years of similar experience. Preference for experience managing and delivering educational programming. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
KNOWLEDGE
The Program Manager has a general knowledge of the gaming industry. Including but not limited to casino operations, sports betting, how regulations work in gaming diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. An in-depth knowledge is not required, nor desired. Program Manager should have knowledge of an academic institution's operating environment.
Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Google software.
Preferred
Worked in delivering education and gaming related programming. Use the general knowledge of the gaming industry to curate content from instructors for varied levels of engagement from executive education attendees.
SKILLS
Required
Navigating and using the technology necessary to deliver a quality and seamless delivery of virtual and in person training and educational content. Ability to quickly learn the latest technology associated with these types of virtual delivery mechanisms. Ability to direct staff to utilize and obtain proficiency in these applications. Ability to write, direct the production of and edit business proposals
Preferred
Experience with various technology packages such as Zoom, WebEx, and other platforms. Technology includes A/V and computer technology necessary to deliver the programs. Ability to direct staff in the use of and implementation of these platforms.
ABILITIES
Required
Directing activities of multiple programs undertaken simultaneously. Ability to nurture faculty instructors once they have been identified and direct staff to achieve these directives. Ability to work closely with various stakeholders in an efficient and expedient manner. Ability to direct multiple content acquisition efforts simultaneously. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
