Our Platform and Systems Engineering Team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Boston, with experience in prototyping, rapid iteration and fabrication of early-stage proof-of-concept products. The team works cross-functionally to advance applications in areas including biotech, renewable energy, autonomous systems, automotive, and many more types of intelligent edge systems. You will oversee the in-house fabrication and model shop as well as design and collaborate on early-stage prototypes.

  Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical systems
  • Analyze problems and deficiencies and develop solutions to resolve them
  • Proficient with CAD and CAM software
  • Model making and/or fabrication shop experience, including design for 3D printing, CNC, lathe, sheet metal etc.
  • Selection and sourcing of materials, and experience hiring and supervising outside contractors
  • Solid communication skills and collaborations with stakeholders, technicians, contractors and suppliers
  • Planning, selection and maintenance of fabrication and model shop equipment
  • Bonus for electronics prototyping experience, such as design of cabling assemblies
  • BSME with 5+ years or MSME with 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
