As an Equipment Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing Pump/Abatement/Chiller equipment to improve product quality, driving yield improvements, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose and resolve equipment related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology. Coordinating and carrying out equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost optimization activities, handling new equipment qualifications and managing, auditing and collaborating with equipment suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk mitigation objectives.

The Equipment Engineer role is responsible for supervising the health of their assigned equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and providing proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks that could impact Fab cycle time (CT) or turns.

Skill Sought Out For This Role:

  • Strong process area equipment knowledge
  • DRAM development and manufacturing experience
  • Proven Automation skills through previous automation projects requiring coding/machine learning/JMP Scripting
  • Strong ability to perform functions of this role described above with minimal direction/guidance
  • Strong logic and problem-solving skills and thought processes with successful demonstrated experience and approach it with the demeanor "how can I resolve this today!"
  • Mature understanding of the process flow related to area equipment and SPC principles
  • Strong leadership skills with the shown ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups
  • Able to efficiently organize multifunctional teams to complete projects to solve an array of problems as well as coordinate meetings and initiate follow-up actions having the demeanor, "how will I make a difference today!"
  • Strong partnering and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate and present optimally to all audiences using the intended question "who needs to know this?"
  • Demonstrate ability to resolve sophisticated problems, project management, resolve equipment issues, and develop procedures or actions plans when one isn't in place
  • Strong understanding of physics, area chemistry, and semiconductor equipment  concepts as well as analytical problem-solving skills
  • Mature time management, organization, and prioritization skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Pump/Abatement/Chiller Equipment Development for semiconductor products
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Data Science understanding
