This role requires full time on-site presence in Culpepper, VA.

In this role you will:

Be responsible for Rack and Stack Operations, this will include the following:

  • Physically install, secure, and manage servers, storage devices, and network equipment in data center racks.
  • Ensure all equipment is accurately labeled, documented, and aligned with data center standards and best practices.
  • Installation and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Perform cable management to ensure efficient airflow and accessibility.
  • Resolve network connectivity issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform replacement of hard drives, power supplies and other components within server, storage, and network devices.

Document and Report activities:

  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and update procedural documentation and guidelines.

Collaborate and Support:

  • Work closely with network engineers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support data center operations and projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments as required.

Ensure Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all data center policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized data center environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate plus 4 years technical degree or the equivalent in accumulated formal training and seminars.
  • At least 6 to 10 years of proven experience in data center operations, specifically in rack and stack activities, cabling operations, and network troubleshooting.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware installation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network switches and routers (experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar equipment preferred).
  • Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools and cable management practices.
  • Understanding of network protocols and topologies.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi components/systems.
  • Knowledge of telephony systems

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Culpeper is $66,430 MINIMUM to $123,370 MAXIMUM USD.  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
