We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & HRIS Manager to oversee our payroll processing and HRIS management. This role is essential as Awardco levels up our payroll and HR system management and will ensure the accurate processing of payroll and people data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations and HRIS management, along with a passion for data integrity and process improvement.
What you will accomplish:
Payroll Management:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple states and remote locations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) laws and reporting requirements.
- Manage employee benefits deductions, bonuses, commissions, and other variable pay components.
- Support international payroll processing efforts where applicable, ensuring alignment with global payroll policies.
- Review and audit payroll data for accuracy, including timesheets, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Liaise with external vendors, including payroll providers and tax agencies, to resolve discrepancies.
HRIS System Management:
- Serve as the primary administrator for the HRIS system, ensuring accurate data entry, maintenance, and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the HRIS and payroll workflows.
- Maintain HR data integrity by conducting routine audits and troubleshooting data inconsistencies.
- Support system upgrades and new HRIS module implementations, including training end-users on best practices.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on payroll, headcount, compensation, and employee metrics to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure payroll and labor costs align with budget forecasts.
Employee Support & Compliance:
- Provide guidance to employees on payroll, and HRIS inquiries.
- Stay up to date on relevant labor laws and payroll regulations, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules.
- Partner with HR on compensation initiatives, onboarding processes, and year-end tax reporting.
What you will bring:
- 4-5 years of experience in payroll management and HRIS administration.
- Experience with ADP or other HRIS tools (e.g., BambooHR, UKG) - experience with Workforce Now is a huge plus!
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax compliance at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Experience working with multi-state payroll operations is preferred.
- Experience managing international payroll is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to audit data and generate actionable insights (Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, organization, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments is a plus.
