Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior HR/LR Partner located in Freeport, TX!

About you and this role

In this role, you will bring value to the organization by working with the client group to understand the business/function needs. You will gain an understanding of the business/function culture and be active in supporting change initiatives, will be able to communicate at all levels of the organization, develop trusting relationships. You will collaborate with HR Solutions to implement the necessary HR strategies that support the people components of the business strategies and plans.

Responsibilities

  • This role is the first among equals in the HR site support organization and will provide support and represent the HR function on the Texas Operations Site Leadership Team
  • Partner and influence Texas Operations talent priorities for the site
  • Lead Labor Partner for Texas Operations and will work with the Site HR/LR Partners in collaboration on labor issues and opportunities
  • Collaborate with site leaders and site HR/LR Partners to ensure alignment and accomplish talent priorities and objectives for the site
  • Consult with Operations HR Director, NA HR director, USGC HR Partner Leader and Site HR/LR Partners on people issues – ensuring they have a supporting workforce to deliver against the business agenda
  • Facilitate culture and talent initiatives aligned to the business agenda specifically for client base at Texas Operations
  • Assist with development and deployment of top talent across the organization
  • Identify and develop key talent for the business as well as develops leadership skills of managers
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees when appropriate
  • Ensure that a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization
  • Drive organizational productivity and engagement
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of and advanced level of expertise in HR and assigned business/functional area to resolve complex problems or issues
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
  • Work independently without guidance (except in complicated situations)
  • Analyze and identify internal/external business challenges
  • Recommend best practices to improve HR processes and delivery
  • Communicate difficult concepts to others
  • Persuade others to adopt a different point of view
  • Use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience
  • Previous HR experience
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Skills

  • Previous labor relations experience
  • Previous HR Partner client facing experience
  • A degree discipline in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Labor Relations, or other related field
  • Workday experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal effectiveness skills, including but not limited to conflict resolution, effective two-way communication, negotiation skills
  • Strong relationship, partnership, and consultancy skills
  • Ability to analyze data and situations, make recommendations and assist with implementation
  • Ability to build solid relationships with clients through expertise and consultation
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment and labor laws
