About the Team:

The Wall Street Journal Paid Media team is looking for a Paid Media Search, Social & Display Associate to help drive acquisition growth across multiple paid media platforms. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of experience with managing Paid Search, Social and Display campaigns from start to finish. The paid media team is data driven, collaborative, and open to all ideas in order to help achieve growth goals.

About the Role:

The Paid Media Search, Social & Display Associate is a critical role and focuses on driving new subscribers for The Wall Street Journal by supporting the Paid Media team from strategic planning, execution, optimization, and analysis of digital marketing campaigns globally. You will gain experience building performance-driven campaigns on platforms including, but not limited to,Google, DV360, Bing, Meta, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat etc.

This role is highly collaborative and will work across the organization with multiple stakeholders to identify opportunities for acquisition growth and to measure success. You will report to the Manager, Paid Media and work in our midtown Manhattan office three days each week.

You Will:

  • Create an effective strategic framework across paid search, social, display and programmatic media channels including Google (Google Ads and DV360), Bing, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat etc.

  • Be hands on in-platform - QA’ing campaign builds, optimizing keyword strategy, and monitoring performance.

  • Manage and optimize large media budgets across platforms and markets to maximize acquisition volume, increase audience reach and retain current members.

  • Actively report, track and optimize performance of media campaigns. Make recommendations and provide updates to the Acquisition and Creative Teams.

  • Work closely with platforms (Google, Bing, Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) and vendors (e.g., agencies) to identify opportunities; understand their best practices and recommendations for improving paid search, social and display at Dow Jones.

  • Find ways to use media, creative and content to deepen our relationship with our audiences, to drive subscriptions, grow our digital channel footprint, and leverage all organic marketing efforts to reach users in meaningful and engaging ways.

  • Execute, manage, and optimize media campaigns and programs for WSJ both independently and in support of managers. 

  • Handle daily campaign maintenance and optimizations including audience updates, budget pacing, and creative flips.

  • Run the campaign QA process to ensure accurate implementation and pacing.

  • Regularly report on campaign performance to cross-functional teams and answer internal questions regarding their status and performance. 

  • Collaborate closely with internal acquisition, creative, brand, and operations teams to ensure campaigns are executed on time, meeting their deadlines. 

  • Monitor campaign and media channel performance, ensuring that campaign goals are met and providing post-campaign reports. 

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscapes and new technologies impacting digital marketing.

  • Demonstrate diligence, attention to detail and adherence to budgets.

  • Maintain and organize campaign-specific materials.

You Have:

  • The willingness to work on-site in our NYC office 3 days every week.

  • 0 - 2 years of digital media experience (this can include internships and co-ops), ideally with a focus on paid media.

  • Hands-on experience building and managing digital paid media campaigns on platforms including, but not limited to, Google, DV360, Bing, Meta, LinkedIn, and/or Snapchat.

  • An interest in emerging media channels and opportunities.

  • The desire to help drive innovation for global brands.

  • A pro-active, self-starter mindset and excellent communication skills, with experience seeking out and building the necessary relationships to achieve success.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $70,000
