Responsibility
- Issue weekly, component releases to suppliers. Monitoring accuracy, quantity, due date and the required lead -time is given.
- Monitor daily, the Supply Chain Coverage Report and Balance Due Report and make necessary arrangements to ensure the on-time delivery of material shipments. When a concern arises that will delay delivery, provide a corrective action plan to the Materials Supervisor for review and approval.
- Maintain frequent contact with the suppliers regarding part release information, weekly cum reconciliation and the resolution of problems that may arise.
- This person is responsible for supplier development strategies aimed at improving supplier performance measures via DMR processes, MQR processes, Supplier Corrective Actions Plans, etc. Supplier Delivery Performance is a measure of this person's performance.
- Perform daily cycle counts of inventories. When a discrepancy exists, this person will reconcile that issue and provide corrective actions towards immediate resolution. This person is responsible for their inventory accuracy.
- Analyze MRP data to proactively identify issues that may affect Supply Chain Performance Measures (such as Premium Freight, Part Availability, Downtime, Packaging Shortages, etc.)
- Review and maintain daily ASN Report to ensure receiving accuracy and timeliness of entry into the Inventory System.
- Establish and track Freight Plan(s) to support production requirements as necessary. This person will lead the follow-up efforts to ensure the plan develops as originally established and will communicate those updates to Management.
- Provide Corrective Action Plans to any issues that are adversely affecting Plant Performance Measures. This person may lead or be involved in committees/teams in this process depending on the situation.
- Assist in conducting physical inventories as they may occur.
- Establish Visual Inventory Parameters that will support the 5S (storage, labeling, min/max) on the plant floor.
- Provide daily updates to KPI (Key Performance Indicators) in areas that include (Inventory Valuation, Inventory DOH, Cycle Counts, Inventory Accuracy and Premium Freight).
- This person will provide daily Summary Reports to the Materials Supervisor/or designee to support any daily staff meetings assigned to the Material Manager. (This person must report any hot parts or supplier past due issues to leadership.)
- Maintain Delivery Matrixes to the Receiving Department to ensure timing and frequency of deliveries are tracked, coordinated and communicated within the Material Handling Function.
- Maintain daily contact with Domestic and International Carriers, monitoring delivery performance to the final destinations.
- Other duties deemed necessary by the Materials Supervisor.
- Has the authority to stop the production process if a quality or concerns are detected.
Qualification/Requirements
Basic knowledge of a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system. Automotive experience a plus.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Materials Manager.
Education Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
Working Experience Required:
Two (2) to three (3) years in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of the shipping and receiving process. References
