You Are:
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Deputy to support our Accounting Operations Director in overseeing critical operational areas within a highly regulated and complex environment. The Deputy Accounting Operations Lead will help lead a team of 125 accounting professionals across six distinct areas. Responsibilities include managing high-volume operational functions such as employee labor processing, expense report audits, vendor invoice processing, customer billing, cash collection, contract close-out, and subcontractor time administration. A  big part of the role also involves driving process simplification, improvement, and innovation efforts, including automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within accounting operations.

The Work:

  • Lead and manage a team of over 125 individuals across six unique focus areas.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff to achieve individual and company goals.
  • Manage AFS billing and collection program to achieve quarterly targets and industry-leading Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Oversee expense compliance and employee expense report audits within SLA.
  • Manage both employee and subcontractor timecard processing within tight deadlines to support labor and vendor cost processing and payment to employees and subcontractors.
  • Drive process simplification, improvement, and innovation efforts.
  • Support external audits of financial statements and government accounting-related audits.

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance.
  • Strong finance background with comprehensive understanding of accounting operations and management.
  • 10+ years of finance operations experience, including leading billing, accounts payable and time and expense within a shared service model.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams, collaborate, and manage projects cross-functionally.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Process improvement, automation, and simplification experience.
  • Experience using Costpoint, Concur, and Unanet Sub Time.
  • Experience working at government contractor.

  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:
$127,700$260,900 USD
