Job Summary:
As a highly skilled specialist you are responsible for various maintenance and installation tasks including but not limited to all system equipment. Operates all electronic test equipment, performing complex test, troubleshooting and repairs of subassemblies per complete and incomplete test procedures. Works in Depot shop environment on Printed Circuit Boards (including component level repair/replacement), subassemblies and other individual parts as required. This position typically works without supervision and limited direction. Expected to guide/train less senior personnel.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Possesses ability to read and interpret complex schematics, parts/wiring diagrams, work orders, customer specifications, test instructions/procedures and engineers' notes/memos to determine tests/equipment required. Sets up required test equipment to provide sufficient functional tests for repaired equipment.
• Analyzes and interprets test data to determine if results are within appropriate specifications.
• Diagnoses, locates and troubleshoots malfunctions as required; performs repairs as needed.
• Maintains appropriate records and documentation in accordance with depot procedures and requirements. (examples including, SAP, Data collection documents)
• Operates more complex test equipment, basic hand tools and special tooling for detailed diagnostics of equipment.
• Provides feedback to supervision and planning on time restraints and productivity goals set by management.
• Mentors, trains, directs and assists entry level technicians as required.
• Assists reporting supervisor/manager in day-to-day operations and identifies ways to continually improve processes, workflows to enhance the repair facilities efficiencies.
• Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
• Must be able to work in an adaptive/flexible work environment
Must be able to take guidance/direction from senior personnel.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Two years college/tech school degree in electronics and a minimum of 6 years’ experience in electronics related industry, or a minimum of 6 years’ experience in electronics related industry. Must have through hole and surface mount components soldering skill. Must be proficient in Windows based computer programs. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interface with all levels of personnel. Ability to work in a hectic and noisy environment. Ability to travel Foreign and Domestic. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
