On Location is seeking a Games Services Director who will be supporting the Games planning and execution of on-site services and operations delivery. Leading a diverse team across multiple locations this role requires the ability to work cross-functionally. This leader will have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for the successful delivery of the Games.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee various functional areas (departments) responsible for Games-time operations and pre-Games planning and delivery and ensures coordination between each function. These areas may include (subject to change): Accommodations; Access Management; Transportation & Logistics; Gifting; Workforce Operations; DMC & Tour Management (for Milano-Cortina 26).

  • Lead a team of locally and remotely based Functional Area heads, and ensure effective collaboration with other On Location teams and counterparts within Local Games Organising Committee and IOC when relevant.

  • Partner with the Vice President Human Resources on people strategies including hiring where needed, and relevant initiatives to deliver on the Games.

  • Work with the Event Production FA to define and adapt roles & responsibilities and manage the interactions between the Games Services FAs and those under the responsibility of Event Production (including Venue Management; Venue Design; Catering, Cleaning, & Waste; Access Management, etc.)

  • Collaborate with the Program Management verticals (Stakeholder, Custom Groups, Commercial, Special Events / Tours) to define and adapt roles & responsibilities and manage the interactions between the Games Services FAs and those under the responsibility of Program Management, to ensure that all On Location programs are adequately serviced and that information flow effective and expectations are met and managed.

  • Collaborate with the Ticketing Team as necessary related to overall inventory.

  • Work closely with the Product & Inventory Management teams to ensure that the inventory for all assets contracted by or delivered by Games Services FAs is efficiently managed and monetized.

  • Partner with the Vice-President, Legal, Compliance, & Procurement to ensure that any purchases, contracts, policies, or processed initiated or implemented by Games Services FAs fit within the On Location SAS and On Location Events compliance framework.

  • Ensure coordination between Program Management and Operational FAs as it relates to timely and effective communications and operational readiness.

  • Manage a cross-cultural, international team across various projects.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

·       Experience working in multiple Olympic Games or other similar global events (FWC, RWC, CWG, etc.) with one or more of the relevant functional areas listed above in the competence of this position.

·       Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

·       Extensive experience with sports event management

·       Experience in managing a cross-cultural team of event professionals within a matrix environment

·       Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage concurrent priorities

·       Fluent in Italian and English.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Proactive in identifying areas where support can be provided to meet deadlines

·       Presently resides to Milan, Italy
