Meritage Hospitality Group, one of the nation’s largest Wendy’s franchisee, developer of West Michigan restaurant concepts like Stan’s Tacos and Morning Belle, and soon to be the largest franchisee of Taco John's, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team!

What You’ll Do:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the review, posting and reconciling of AP invoices and other weekly recuring transactions into the general ledger. Additionally, this role will review related systems daily/weekly for timely routing and approval of invoices.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

• Review invoices for reasonableness and accuracy and verify proper approvals (if required) have been obtained.
• Process and code invoices with proficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare food vendor payments and accurately account for food costs.
• Respond to vendor and departmental inquiries timely and professionally.
• Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
• Research outstanding checks.
• Assist with processing and maintaining records for various taxes, permits, etc.
• Maintain vendor records and relationships.
• Support the AP Supervisor and accounting department with various projects and other duties as assigned.

Additional Details:

• Located in our Restaurant Service Center in downtown Grand Rapids, MI
• In office work or 50/50 remote option
• Reports to the Operations Controller within the Finance department
• Full time, hourly, non-exempt

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or other related area of study OR
• 3+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or finance experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong time management skill, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
