About the Role

Workday is seeking a Senior Accountant who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The candidate should be a self-starter, excellent communicator, and enjoy collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in an ambitious fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries in compliance with GAAP

  • Perform month-end ledger account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in ledger accounts

  • Actively involved in the financial close process-with an emphasis in calculating partner commissions and lease accounting

  • Partner closely with various business units such as FP&A, partner operations and sourcing team to review, analyze, and develop processes to support lease accounting and partner commissions

  • Process operational transactions for business accruals, bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, and leases

  • Collaborate with various departments, including Treasury, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and business partners teams for proper recording of transactions

  • Support SOX compliance efforts and assist in improvement of control procedures

  • Assist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing data

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

  • Drive process improvement, build efficiencies, and innovate

  • Work to form positive relationships with internal customers and external vendors

  • Active participant in delivering on accounting and organization goals

Las responsabilidades del puesto incluyen, entre otras:

  • Recopilar y analizar información para preparar asientos contables de conformidad con los PCGA.

  • Realizar conciliaciones de cuentas contables a fin de mes; investigar y resolver variaciones en las cuentas del libro mayor.

  • Participar de manera activa en el proceso de cierre financiero, con énfasis en el cálculo de comisiones de los partners y la contabilidad de arrendamiento.

  • Colaborar estrechamente con varias unidades de negocio, como el equipo de Planificación y Análisis Financiero, operaciones de partners y equipo de abastecimiento, para revisar, analizar y desarrollar procesos que respalden la contabilidad de arrendamiento y las comisiones de los partners.

  • Procesar las transacciones operativas de los devengos del negocio, las conciliaciones bancarias, los gastos prepagos y los alquileres.

  • Colaborar con diferentes departamentos, incluidos los equipos de Tesorería, Planificación y Análisis Financieros, Cuentas por Pagar y los equipos de partners de negocio, para hacer un registro adecuado de las transacciones.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance

  • 6+ years of relevant experience 

Other Qualifications:

  • It is essential to be bilingual in Spanish and English

  • Public accounting, software and/or SaaS industry preferred

  • Experience using large ERP system

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP relates to Lease accounting and ASC 606 is preferred

  • Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed

  • High attention to details and accuracy, excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask

  • Collaborative teammate to work with cross-functional teams

  • Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment

  • Lease and commission accounting experience preferred

  • Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong Excel skills, IE - can execute formulas and pivot tables

  • Detailed and analytical person who thrives in solving problems

Cualificaciones básicas:

  • Título universitario en Contabilidad o Finanzas.

  • 6 años o más de experiencia demostrada.

Otras cualificaciones:

  • Bilingüe en español e inglés (excluyente).

  • Preferentemente del sector de contabilidad pública, software o SaaS.

  • Experiencia con grandes sistemas de ERP.

  • Preferiblemente con conocimiento profundo de las normas US GAAP en relación con la contabilidad de arrendamiento y la norma ASC 606.

  • Experiencia con plazos ajustados y puntualidad en el trabajo realizado.

  • Gran atención a los detalles y la precisión, excelentes habilidades organizativas y capacidad para realizar muchas tareas.

  • Compañero de equipo colaborativo para trabajar con equipos interfuncionales.

  • Ganas de aprender y afrontar desafíos en un entorno dinámico y de crecimiento veloz.

  • Preferiblemente con experiencia en contabilidad de arrendamiento y comisiones.

  • Habilidades excelentes y profesionales de comunicación oral y escrita.

  • Habilidades sólidas en Excel, IE (que pueda ejecutar fórmulas y tablas dinámicas).

  • Persona detallista y analítica que se destaque en la resolución de problemas.
