As the Senior Recruitment & Onboarding Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective recruitment and onboarding strategies to attract, select, and integrate top talent into the organisation. This role is crucial in optimising the recruitment process to meet the organisation's needs.

You will design and implement recruitment strategies to attract high quality candidates, including job advertising, sourcing, and networking. You will lead onboarding strategies, developing effective frameworks to ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the business, equipped to perform their roles, aligning closely with strategic workforce plans.

Join our new Talent Centre of Excellence and be responsible for driving the Recruitment & Onboarding strategy for the Bank. Your core accountabilities will include:

  • Lead the design and framework of the Bank’s Recruitment & Onboarding strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic workforce plans and maintaining an employee-centric mindset.
  • Act as a pure SME for Recruitment & Onboarding, co-creating our strategy for the future. Work closely with HR teams and senior leaders across the Bank, driving strategies locally with a global mindset aligned with the Santander Group.
  • Design and establish the type of talent required through our recruitment strategy, ensuring a superior people experience for all internal, external, and international candidates, including emerging talent.
  • Drive a community of practice, acting as a trainer, coach, and facilitator for the Strategic People Solutions team. Share technical CoE experiences and skills to enhance recruitment and onboarding processes.
     

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong understanding of Recruitment & Onboarding processes, and the ability to analyse and communicate these effectively.
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Santander operates, and how this connects to the San UK Strategic Blueprint
  • Effective team player, collaborator, and networker across the HR function and wider Bank.
  • Focused on providing a superior people experience with strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of persuading and influencing others to achieve prioritised deliverables with a data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to present and engage with Senior Executives on recommendations, being curious and adaptable, building collaborative relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, Human Resources, or Business Management.
  • Extensive experience in Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, and Onboarding.
  • Significant experience in Human Resources, whether within Santander, another organisation, or as a consultant.

Team and Business Area Overview:

You'll be part of a close-knit team within the newly formed Talent Centre of Excellence, reporting directly to the Director of Talent. You will support the Strategic People Solutions team and Strategic People Partners, forming a community of practice to share technical expertise and ensure the learning strategy is executed effectively within the business. Additionally, you will work closely with the Senior Talent Experience Manager in People Interactions to align recruitment and onboarding strategies operationally, ensuring organisational goals and objectives are met and consistently aligned with our recruitment strategy.

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 3 days in an office every week.

  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
  • We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after five years service, with the option to purchase up to five contractual days per year.
