The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to work at the customer site on Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan.  This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the PACAF C5ISRO II mission.  In this mission, we provide IT support to our PACAF customers throughout the Pacific Theater.

Primary Responsibilities.

Provide SME support for BC3-AF and MSCT/TDF to the 621ACS.  Provide technical support in the event of system failure or outage. Monitors, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds hardware/software to continue operation of the BC3-AF and MSCT/TDF system.  Systems management involves isolating and identifying unprecedented conditions, resolving critical problems, and developing, testing, and implementing new technologies.  The candidate will provide functional and technical training for users as required. In addition, they will conduct end-to-end system performance tests and provide technical reports including recommendations for performance improvement as requested by the government. Due to the criticality of BC3-AF3 and the MSCT/TDY systems the candidate is required to support BC3-AF and MSCT/TDF outages that occur after normal duty hours and on weekends. The chosen candidate will report within two (2) hours of the original notification if the outage cannot be corrected via telephone support.  They will be required to support full systems releases, partial releases, patches, and security updates to software including applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). For commercial products such as MSCT/TDF, they will coordinate with the Program Management Office (PMO) and vendor to provide patches and updates for system security and integrity.  Based on the ongoing DoD Cryptographic Modernization program they will work with the government in the identification of equipment required to be upgraded or replaced IAW the DoD Cryptographic Modernization Program. The candidate will independently plan, design, and carry out the work required to meet the commander's BC3-AF weapons integration program requirement. They will serve as the technical authority and interprets policies promulgated by authorities senior to the immediate supervisor and determines their effect on program needs. They shall assist the Government with systems architecture and configuration reviews that may be necessary because of new, changed, improved, or modernized versions of BC3-AF systems and MSCT/TDF. They shall assist with the installation and checkout of associated unit telecommunications hardware and software, and any designated C2 systems with which BC3-AF must exchange data. This includes full systems releases, partial releases, or patches and tests of software modules.

Basic Qualifications.

•           Must have the required DoD 8570 Level 2 certification

•           A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Windows Server Administration or MCSE Core Infrastructure certification

•           Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Red Hat Linux administration or CompTIA Linux+ certification

•           Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or computer information systems. Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

•           3-5 years of experience operating and maintaining BC3 Family of Systems and MSCT/TDF

•           SECRET security clearance

Preferred Qualifications.

Experience in maintaining BC-3AF is highly desirable.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
