Department Overview
TD’s Digital Strategy, Innovation and Payments focuses on accelerating TD's innovation agenda to position TD for the future. The team is comprised of 4 pillars: Digital Strategy which connects Line of Business strategies to ensure we have an Enterprise Digital Strategy that positions TD to win in the market; Enterprise Payments spanning strategy through to execution of payments initiatives; Enterprise Innovation & Design which steers our innovation agenda and leads the Design Center of Excellence; and External Ecosystems, focused on embracing new data-sharing disruptions and develop emerging business models.
The Enterprise Payments organization is evolving to drive thought leadership and oversight for payments across the enterprise. This is a dynamic and critical capability centre for TDBG, undergoing significant transformation! The mandate of the team includes Payments strategy and innovation, business architecture and capabilities, business management and governance, and industry advocacy. The team is looking to drive efficient and effective transformation, differentiated value propositions including strategic partnerships, exceptional customer experiences, leveraging rich payments data and ensuring robust risk management. The team is cultivating payments expertise, through global analysis, industry connections, organizational know-how and executing as a collaborative partner to lines of business and technology groups across the bank; our mandate spans from retail, to small business to large corporates both domestically and globally, as a key pillar of TDBG strategy.
Job Description
As the Vice-President, Enterprise Payments Strategy and Partnerships, you will develop and refine TD's Payments strategy, gaining buy-in from senior leadership and ensuring alignment and consistency across partners. In addition, you will be accountable for:
· Previous experience developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
· Significant depth of payments experience and building maturity roadmaps in a variety of contexts
· Deep understanding of interactions within a payments value chain, ie. customers and clients across multiple use cases including C2C, B2C, B2B
· Robust knowledge of payments P&L drivers and a strong risk and control environment inclusive of emerging regulations across multiple jurisdictions
· Inquisitive, avid learner and comfortable with experimentation
· Highly effective communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
· Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision. Creative thought leadership required while listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of vision
· Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams
· Excellent relationship management skills, effectively supporting multiple complex relationships with a superior ability to make things happen using positive influence
· Expertise in working effectively in teams – requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
· Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
