Sourcing Manager – Marketing Procurement

Expedia has an opportunity for a Sourcing Manager to join our global marketing procurement team. By building positive relationships with the marketing teams, you will be responsible for procurement of marketing services such as media, creative, social and market research supporting Expedia brands and the marketing teams globally.

Using your procurement experience, and leveraging your category knowledge, you will work directly with the marketing teams at all levels of Expedia.  In this role, you will be expected to develop & deliver an effective procurement strategy and conduct activities such as RFP’s, effective negotiations of commercials & agreements, and ongoing vendor management to deliver continuous savings, performance & process improvement for the Marketing and Brands teams. What you’ll do:

  • Act as a trusted adviser, and subject matter expert, leading marketing sourcing and procurement projects. These projects often involve working across multiple products and brands, as well as multiple geographies, to develop one Expedia solution wherever possible

  • Lead and own a full range of projects from transactional to complex, spanning all types of marketing services across Expedia Brands with a focus on production and creative services

  • For individual procurement projects, build, communicate, and implement work plans and timelines. Identify the required supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers, as well as track and report on progress/issues

  • Deliver sustainable value by leading negotiations with vendors on the scope of work, commercials & contract, which will involve working with legal, finance, tax and other internal departments

  • Be a strategic partner to Marketing teams throughout the sourcing process

  • Build and maintain vendor relationships to maximize value and to deliver a best-in-class supply chain across multiple marketing spend categories

  • Support the continuous development and evolution of a marketing vendor database, using vendors data to drive efficiencies and effective vendor management

  • Act as the point of contact for critical issues to both our marketing teams and other areas such as legal, finance, tax, audit

  • Partner with marketing teams to build, moderate to complex service requirements and scope, assist with identifying vendors, manage the entire RFx process, provide vendor evaluation framework and recommendations on vendor selection

  • Draft and redline commercial components of master purchasing and service contracts, statements of work, and software as a service and licensing agreements

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the marketing procurement categories

  • Essential knowledge of core procurement fundamentals with a marketing focus

  • Great teammate and able to work independently while prioritizing their own time and work

  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal

  • Ideally, you are experienced in working in a global business with multiple brands

  • Experience of redlining contracts and general familiarity with key contract terms is essential

  • A leader in establishing and maintaining business partner relationships, including influencing skills are essential and rising to the challenge when looking after demanding business partners

  • Capable of working with abstract concepts and presenting simply and clearly to others

  • Strong problem-solving, lateral thinking, project management, planning organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Driven by financial targets and value creation

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $177,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
