Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Virtual Simulation Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of classified multi-user computer systems, maintaining lab infrastructure, and supporting security procedures. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position will be located in Melbourne FL.
Essential Functions:
- Interact with users to determine hardware/software requirements.
- Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and COTS.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Ancillary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- evaluation of vendor products, providing recommendations to purchase hardware and software,
- providing backup recovery,
- maintaining system documentation,
- tuning system performance,
- building of systems and computing asset management.
- Applicant must be experienced in STIG configuration, classified processing, and security procedures.
- Install, harden, and maintain computers in a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience or Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience with systems administration of Windows and Linux workstations and servers
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with NAS and SAN technologies (NetApp SAN, EMC SAN, HP NAS)
- DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Knowledge of Virtualization technology, including Esxi, VMWare, and Hyper-V
- Risk Management Framework (RMF) knowledge/experience
- Knowledge of Nessus, Splunk, SCAP, POA&Ms, system audits, vulnerability scanning, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) system security package development
Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
