SECURITY CLEARANCE: SECRET

SALARY: $110,000 - $125,000

SCHEDULE: Due to the nature of law enforcement work and operation, position may require occasional support outside of core working hours, as well as intermittent weekend support, mission dependent.

About the Role:

The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program provides assistance to Federal, state, local, law enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States. In this role you will utilize your Open Source intelligence (OSINT), dark web, blockchain and crypto currency experience to draw connections between targets and leverage that information to produce reports and briefings to Government Executives with the sole purpose of protecting and securing the safety of our citizens domestically and internationally.

Work Duties and Tasks:

  • Produce accurate blockchain forensics, analysis and reporting including tracing funds through mixers/tumblers and identifying source and destination addresses.
  • Identify when a virtual currency mixer or tumbler has been utilized during a virtual currency movement and produce a report outlining the transaction and outcomes.
  • Develop formatted and presentable virtual currency transactions by date, amount transacted, and incoming vs. outgoing; and identify last known virtual currency and associated wallet.
  • Perform real-time data tracking and clustering using block chain analysis of virtual currency wallet hosts and addresses for development in a law enforcement collection system; include results of this analysis in a weekly written report.
  • Utilize Open Source intelligence (OSINT)to expand criminal investigations and illuminate Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCO) involved in narcotics trafficking and money laundering
  • Develop and maintain a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for field and auditing purposes on a daily basis, which includes virtual currency transactions by date, amount transacted, incoming vs outgoing, and identifying the last known virtual currency amount in a virtual currency wallet.
  • Conduct online intelligence-driven Dark web searches and analysis to identify key evidence as well as criminal organizations involved in narcotics trafficking, money laundering, and gang-related activities.
  • Prepare detailed activity reports including Dark web/Crypto currency evidence collection/documentation, case agent and senior leadership briefs, progress reports, reports of investigation, subpoenas, and risk analysis reports.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3 years of experience doing intelligence analytic work in a cyber environment
  • 2 years of experience generating detailed analytics reports for briefings in a field environment or for senior headquarters managers.
  • 3 years of exposure and deep knowledge of relevant operating systems such as Unix/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Apple
  • Experience in using cyber intelligence tools, OSINT, and software tools to actively search, mine, identify and preserve data on the internet and Dark web.
  • Experience with virtual currency transactions, research, and analysis.
  • Experience conducting blockchain forensics utilizing virtual currency tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic)
  • Experience performing real-time data tracking and effective clustering of virtual currency wallet hosts for development.
  • Working knowledge of marketplaces, forums, and other websites on the Dark web
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, i2 Analyst Notebook, Visio)
