We're seeking engineers to utilize advanced technology in agile settings, with a focus on improving the customer experience for every collector.

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our Engineering & Quality team to assist with design tasks, generating work instructions, generating engineering drawings for manufacturing, build tools and machinery, and perform inspection on parts and tools.

You’ll report to The Engineering & Quality Manager and work from our Santa Ana, CA office and warehouses.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform basic product design modifications
  • Develop basic drawings for parts and assemblies, both of products and equipment
  • Participate in the construction and commissioning of tooling, equipment, and fixtures
  • Document process steps to ensure work standardization
  • Inspect parts for dimensional and other physical attributes
  • Identify opportunities for product, equipment, and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

To perform the job successfully, the Mechanical Engineering Technician should demonstrate the following:

  • Written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Curious and seeks to learn new processes and systems, ask questions to ensure understanding
  • Takes direction well
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment
  • Solidworks experience is a plus
  • Experience working with mechanical equipment such as cars, bikes, industrial machinery, woodworking, or metalworking

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Extended periods of time in office and warehouse settings, both at Collector’s Universe and local vendors
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, e-mail correspondences, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare, inspect, and receive submissions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20lbs
  • Working around equipment and machinery
  • Occasional exposure to machinery noise from forklifts, injection presses, and other machinery
  • Occasional exposure to warehouse temperatures and humidity

Hourly Range: 

The hourly range for this position is $23-$37. Entry level operations positions generally start at an hourly rate of $17. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
