Job Summary

The Benefits & LOA Administration Lead will oversee benefits administration for RSM employees ensuring we deliver an excellent employee experience in the process. This role will serve as the subject matter expert and point of contact for all aspects of benefits administration, provide oversight and execution for day-to-day benefits/LOA administration, work closely with RSM’s third-party vendors, act as a point of escalation for Benefits & LOA Specialist(s), and collaborate directly with the Benefits and Absence Centers of Excellence to continuously improve the benefits/LOA administration process for employees. This role will also directly supervise the Benefits & LOA Specialist(s) responsible for providing day-to-day administration and support.

Essential Duties

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the Talent Operations function for all aspects of benefits and LOA administration in partnership with RSM’s third-party benefits and wellbeing providers and the Benefits Manager and Absence Manager sitting in the Wellbeing and Rewards Center of Excellence.
  • Lead a team of benefits and LOA administration specialists, enabling that team to provide day to day administration including eligibility, enrollment, escalated vendor issues, and assistance with employee questions/issues. 
  • Interprets and clarifies benefits and LOA policies, resolving escalated complex problems, addressing inquiries from employees, HRBPs and managers
  • Proactively identify and develop continuous improvement solutions that create efficiency and improve the team member and employee experience, and address corrections as needed
  • Coordinate and process annual enrollment process for employees in collaboration with Talent Technology, Benefits Manager and Benefits Administration team. Participate in meetings, updating systems and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).  Prepare to scale team as needed to accommodate influx of activity during peak enrollment seasons
  • Conducts vendor and HRIS audits to ensure accuracy of Benefits and LOA records, working closely with Benefits & LOA Specialists and relevant teams to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Partners with the HR business partner to determine more complex accommodations options and solutions to the accommodation request
  • Supports Benefits Manager and Absence Manager by maintaining and creating records, reports, and documentation in accordance with local regulations
  • Auditing and updating knowledge documents and policies within Talent Compass
  • Ensures that the benefit and LOA administration team is current with best practices and identifies relevant ongoing training needs. May facilitate training based on needs of staff
  • Partners with HR, Payroll and Finance to ensure end-to-end data consistency
  • Other duties as assigned  

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree and/or minimum of 7 years of equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Relevant Certifications such as SHRM certification or MBA in HR or MSW

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

Required:

  • Knowledge of Indian labor laws and regulations related to leaves and benefits
  • Needs to be an advanced user of MS Excel
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Word

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Workday

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Benefits Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years experience using an HRIS

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Required:

  • Knowledge of Indian labor laws and regulations related to leaves and benefits
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and/or programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communications 
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred:

  • Ability to work well under pressure; meet established targets and goals in a high volume, fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize work and consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume of inquiries and respond in a timely manner
