About the Role

Join us as Senior Manager, Finance at AIA Investment Management!

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position is accountable for the provision of financial & regulatory reporting of AIAIM in accordance to the applicable accounting policies, standards and guidelines. Additionally, this Senior Manager will assist the Head of Finance (HOF) to manage financial governance & control documents and support HOF as the business partner to the CEO, EXCO and Senior Leadership Team of AIAIM and Holdco.

Responsibilities:-

1) Finance Governance and Control

  • Review AIAIM monthly and quarterly group and regulatory reporting deliverables
  • Assist HOF to monitor and ensure regulatory compliance with MAS’s Risk Base Capital framework requirements, as well as S13U and FSI-FM Incentive Grant for solvency and capital purposes
  • Assist HOF to monitor outsourced finance functions and ensure it is according to the MAS, Group and AIAIM outsourcing guidelines and policies
  • Lead Group Finance project deliverables to ensure enhancement efficiency and regulatory changes
  • Develop and update Business Process Manuals (BPM) relating to the Finance Department according to ICFR and other internal control requirements (ISAE3402). To assist as coordinator of ICFR and ensuring BPMs and internal control matrices are in place
  • Liaise with Compliance and Risk team to ensure completeness and validity of finance’s risk control matrices
  • Interact with Group Internal and External Statutory Auditors on finance related audit matters and address any audit action points
  • Develop/co-develop/advise finance related policies in collaboration with Group and AIAIM internal stakeholders including advising AIAIM fund vehicles to ensure policies are in compliance with AIAIM requirements
  • Assist HOF in tracking and managing financial risks and contingencies for AIAIM

2) Group Financial, Statutory and Regulatory Reporting

  • Lead and ensure group, statutory and regulatory reporting are prepared on a timely basis
  • Lead the statutory year end and voluntary half year audits and manage the relationships with external auditors
  • Prepare reports and presentations for board members, EXCO and regulatory bodies as required
  • Recommend areas for enhancements and improvements for the current systems and processes to meet the challenges and needs of stakeholders and participate in projects for any development, design, and implementation of new processes, controls, and functionality changes to existing systems and processes

3) Capital Monitoring and Management

  • Ensure treasury activities support by GFS is provided on a timely basis. Provide instructions to GFS for execution of treasury activities and perform final review on GFS outputs and be accountable for all the deliverables
  • Assist HOF in daily cash forecasting, annual cash budgeting, determination of dividend amounts and the associated AAMP approvals including:-
  • Manage time deposit placements or other short-term cash investments
  • Manage FX conversions for operational requirements
  • Execute cash transfers between bank accounts for funding arrangements
  • Review annual cash flow budget
  • Manage bank account opening, closing and signatory updates, including e-banking platforms
  • Arrange approvals for and execute dividend remittances
  • Assist HOF in preparing liquidity stress testing reports, if applicable

4) Business Continuity and Succession Planning

  • Act as the departmental alternate BCP officer to ensure that related BCP drills pertaining to systems etc are performed accordingly and that relevant BCP documentation is updated
  • Mentoring and coaching any assigned direct/indirect reports for smooth BAU continuation and eventual future career deliverables

Requirements

  • University Degree in Accountancy or Internationally Recognized Accounting Qualification (ACCA, etc)
  • 10 + Years finance functions including reporting and analysis in a multi-national Financial Institution, and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm
  • 5 + years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience in asset management company and insurance industry is a must
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles as well as in the preparation of management, financial and regulatory reports and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Knowledge of SAP Accounting System and Business Intelligence System and familiarity with using the systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with local and group personnel at various levels
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
