Location: We support US flexible working arrangements in the contiguous 48 states.

The opportunity: 

This position is responsible for the calculation and recovery of all overpayments; adjustment and issuance of underpayments as well as the evaluation and negotiating of recoupments or waivers based on the policy provisions.  The Financial Analyst Group Claims will make referrals to collection vendors or vendors to obtain Social Security Administration updates or information.

The role will identify opportunities for alternate resolutions balancing company and client needs.

How you will contribute: 

  • Accurately calculate and communicate changes to the benefit based on what was paid and what should have been paid according to the contract.

  • Training of Case managers on financial components of a claim that may contribute to overpayments or underpayments

  • Maintaining reporting and metrics on the recoupment of overpayments, waivers and uncollectible

  • Partner with Social Security Advocacy vendors on recoveries and disposition of favorable SSA awards.

  • Partner with Tax partners on the proper adjustments and administration of adjustments to benefit payments

What you will bring with you: 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • College degree or equivalent work experience desired

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Group benefits, preferably within a claims management environment; including calculation and recovery of overpayments

  • Position requires strong understanding of offsets under Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability and Life policies.

  • Requires strong math skills

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work as needed and strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrate critical analysis and problem solving skills

  • Candidate must have strong Customer Service skills with the ability to handle difficult/sensitive situations

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is: 

  • Southern California region: 58,300-87,500 annually

  • Central California region: 61,500-92,300 annually

  • Northern California region: 65,800-98,700 annually

If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is 55,700-83,600 annually.

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is 58,300-87,500 annually

If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is 61,500-92,300 annually.

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 65,800-98,700 annually.
