The Red Hat JBoss Web Server Engineering team is seeking a Software Quality Engineer with experience in Java, Groovy, and Linux. In this role, you will contribute to the quality assurance of Red Hat JBoss Web Server, JBoss Core Services, and the corresponding Ansible Playbook.

JBoss Web Server includes Apache Tomcat, the market-leading servlet container, Apache HTTP Server, the world's most popular web server, and standard modules and connectors for security and load balancing.

As a Software Quality Engineer, you will assist in testing various aspects of complex technologies such as Java tuning on different JVMs, Apache HTTP Server performance, load balancing, high availability, and deployments on diverse platforms like PaaS or Docker containers. You will work closely with senior team members to design test scenarios, automate testing, and address quality challenges.

What you will do

  • Assist in developing and maintaining tests and automated testing frameworks.
  • Work on quality testing in various environments, including different operating systems.
  • Contribute to the development of test applications for Red Hat JBoss Web Server, JBoss Core Services, and their associated Ansible Playbook.
  • Identify and document issues, reproduce bugs when necessary, and work with developers to address them.
  • Support root cause analysis of issues under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with team members to test complex scenarios and address customer issues.

What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Intermediate experience in designing and implementing automated test cases.
  • Familiarity with Java and Groovy programming, along with knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or other UNIX-like operating systems.
  • Understanding of Apache HTTP Server or similar web server technologies.
