Surgical Vitreoretinal Account Manager (South East England)

We are seeking a highly agile sales individual to join our VitreoRetinal team in the South East England area (Bucks, South West London, Sussex & Kent). Ideally with expertise in Ophthalmology or medical device/capital equipment sales with proven success of building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers within a surgical environment.

The Surgical Vitreoretinal Account Manager is responsible for promoting and supporting the VR Portfolio to maximise sales against the target for their territory. This is alongside achieving individual objectives and meeting performance standards set by the Sales Managers.

Job Profile:

  • Developing new business with customers in order to achieve sales targets.
  • Identifying equipment opportunities and supports market development.
  • Supporting Clinical Customers in theatre with
  • Maintaining and optimizing existing relationships and managing business with existing key customers.
  • Promoting and driving utilization of appropriate products to all existing and potential customers.
  • Providing feedback on competitor activities in the field via line management.
  • Organizing and coordinating local meetings on territory, ensuring adequate catering facilities, company literature, samples and relevant audio-visual aids are available where necessary.
  • Maintaining and upholding an excellent company image, by way of personal presentation in both attitude, dress, and condition of company car at all times.
  • Ensuring adequate administrative duties are carried out to guarantee efficient operation of territory.

What you’ll bring to Alcon:

  • Proven sales experience preferably in a medical environment
  • Consultant experiences for high-end medical consumables or capital equipment – preferred
  • Effectively and efficiently conveys clear, complete and focused information
  • Interacts with people at all levels of authority; tailors’ messages to audiences and listens to the views of others
  • Effectively presents topics/information to individual and group audiences
  • Demonstrates sensitivity and awareness to other people and cultures
  • Logical and analytical approach to solving problems
  • Ability to work independently; proactive in taking initiative
  • Possesses excellent trust building relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Demonstrates sound business decision making, based on fairness and consistency
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of any other European language is desired
  • University degree qualification or equivalent in marketing, sales, business administration or life sciences or any related field
  • UK Driving Licence
