About Caterpillar Defense
Caterpillar Defense is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Engineer in Dallas, Texas. This role coaches / leads project teams involving scheduling, ordering, and operations for CAT Defense product. Previous experience with logistics, supply chain, and operations desired. Coaches / leads improvement events to deliver tools and processes to support throughput and improved efficiencies.
What You Will Do:
This role will act as a dealer liaison between the CAT Defense order execution team and the various dealers we interface with. The intent will be to actively collaborate with our dealers regarding needs from the business to execute for our customers.
Lead lean events and work collaboratively with multiple production facilities and dealers to address and resolve ordering issues using root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
Lead transactional work to execute value stream transformations. This position works on project teams improving workflow and operational efficiency.
Coaches / leads teams to addresses day-to-day constraints to improve ordering performance and our ability to be flexible and rapidly respond to customer requirements.
The incumbent will also cross train within our various Order Execution job functions and market segments in support of constraint management.
Travel: Up to 10% domestically

Advises others on capacity issues at various points in the supply chain.
Monitors the complete supply chain management process.
Consults on supply chain network design projects or processes.
Quantifies and evaluates benefits and risks of various supply chain strategies and approaches.
Participates in joint planning, process design/redesign with clients and partners.
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
Experience in Global Purchasing, Material Requirements/ Planning, or Supply Chain / Logistics is desired.
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles
APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification highly desired.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid product knowledge
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
