eBay, Inc. seeks Manager, Business Analytics 3 in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Determine needs for technical improvement of the world’s most powerful selling platform software that connects global consumers to advertisers. Collaborate with product and business partners to translate business requirements into structured technical analyses and utilize them to generate actionable insights. Utilize knowledge and experience with SQL and Tableau; R and Python; statistical methodology; multivariate analytics; experimental design; and data mining techniques to analyze online advertisements and product analytics to create scalable and innovative software advertisement product designs and project roadmap. Lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and external vendors throughout the design, implementation, and testing of new products, features and business solutions. Research emerging technologies to enhance browsing, search, and purchase history of millions of users on the online platform and derive technical insights on the delivery of awesome user experience. Work with partners and eBay’s experimentation platform to design and execute technical tests to measure the impact of software product launches and in-region activities. Plan and direct the installation of self-serve dashboards, providing daily guidance and coaching to engineering team to leverage self-serve dashboard capabilities. Conduct design and code reviews and provides technical direction tall levels of designers, developers, and implementers. Periodically meet with finance leads to establish project budget, consistent with technology and personnel requirements after each project checkpoint.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered, as a business analytics manager, or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Using SQL to extract behavioral and transactional data to conduct product and business analysis
2.    Using R and/or Python to automate dashboard refresh and build statistical models 
3.    Using Tableau to visualize data in tables and charts to monitor business performance, diagnose breakage in business continuity, and help business self-serve on data needs
4.    Using A/B Testing to identify the appropriate product features to launch and understand the launch candidate’s impact to the overall ecosystem 
5.    Using Statistics to compare between variants in A/B testing based on stasitical significance, draw conclusions and make recommendations based on data analysis
6.    Using Hadoop/Hive to turn big data into actional insights

Base Salary: $180,128-234,850 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
