Position Summary
Position provides reporting, budgeting, analytical, and accounting support to Radiology department; provides tools and services required for sound financial and accounting decisions, making recommendations where appropriate.
Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with the Radiology Research Facilities division leadership to develop the annual operating budget, monitor income and expenses for the division especially as relates to variance from budget. Develops projections and year end estimates.
- Responsible for financial analysis for all Research Facilities accounts receivable for the department including both internal and external customers by Facility and product line, providing trend analysis and managing projections and variance explanations.
- Responsible for creating sustainable cost accounting process for Research Facility products and services to ensure accurate pricing.
- Responsible for working with Indirect Cost team and Research Facility administrator to produce Indirect Cost statements including verification of depreciation, allocable expense transactions and clinical splits. Processes journals to reflect appropriate fund accounting.
- Provides assistance, guidance and support to the Director and staff on the financial and management accounting functions in conjunction with GAAP and University accounting policies and procedures; assists in developing the department’s annual budget with the Financial Services team and direct input of the data into the Budget Submission System.
- Provides standard and ad hoc reports using various reporting tools, supplying variance analysis and benchmarking information; determines current and long-term reporting needs for Research Facility leadership and creates user reports for frequently requested data.
- Responds to special requests and projects that support and advance Radiology initiatives; provides support and counsel to management with regard to analysis, planning, reporting and developing resources to achieve short- and long-term goals; identifies, gathers, assesses and analyzes data used in making decisions and makes decisions where appropriate; incorporates data and ideas into either formal or informal reports, presenting resolution to issues or problems; remains educated in new applications to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information.
- Completes the year-end and quarter-end closing of the accounting records for Radiology as part of the Financial Services team; reconciles internal financial reports to School financial reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Prior experience in a decentralized and/or university or not-for-profit environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with four (4) years of professional accounting experience in budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis; Demonstrated analytical and account skills with attention to detail; Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills; Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; Self-motivated, driven by challenge with the ability to work independently; Actively attempts to influence events, originates ideas, and takes action; Possesses ability to meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure; Ability to handle confidential information; strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities; Ability to properly assess pertinent data and develop a framework for effective and practical solutions to complex issues; Excellent interpersonal skills; Service-oriented communicator who is a true team player with the ability to forge relationships.

Salary Range
$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
