The opportunity

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will play a key role in maintaining sales data and providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the business, including Senior Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of LIMRA sales reporting including Monthly LIMRA sales and apps data submission, quarterly LIMRA sales data submission, quarterly Life Compass data sales submission, and quarterly LIMRA internal sales reporting

  • Produce executive-facing Daily Production Report and maintain the excel workbooks, VBA macros, and SQL queries used in the process

  • Maintain sales data in Essbase cube and Product Analytics database fed by numerous admin systems / new business systems / vendors and champion efforts to make improvements

  • Update and improve key monthly reporting deliverables for various stakeholders via excel workbooks and SQL queries

  • Perform monthly forecasting exercise with excel tool and meet with higher-ups to discuss and set forecast to be used by multiple business groups

  • Fulfill ad hoc data analysis requests both small and large for Product Development team as well as other teams and Senior Management  

  • Work with Advanced Analytics among other teams to find solutions to business intelligence and analytics challenges

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or related field (or tantamount work experience combined with a different degree)

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or equivalent is preferred

  • 3-10 years in data management & manipulation

  • Understanding of life insurance products (technical understanding of life insurance products a plus)

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to various audiences

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent communication (both verbal & written) and interpersonal skills to deal with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to translate ideas into clearly defined action plans

  • Track record of thriving under tight deadlines.

  • Strong Microsoft SQL skills (other database/programming experience a plus)

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including command of common functions, pivot tables, macros, and VBA

  • Strategic problem solver with desire to learn more about life insurance business unit and the information that drives it forward

Salary range is expected to be between

$68,475.00 USD - $114,125.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
