Associate Demand Analyst, Supply Chain

Demand Forecasting
Job description Summary:
           
ADI is seeking a highly driven and resourceful Forecasting Analyst to join our centralized Demand Forecasting group. Our charter is to maintain a best-in-class Demand Forecasting organization with robust processes and methodology to improve our forecast accuracy and drive optimal execution. The Demand Analyst role is the integration point into the Business Unit and respective General Manager. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and products with key counterparts in Sales, Business Unit, Customer Operations and Supply Chain.
 
Basic Functions:
 

  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Manage forecast exceptions to achieve Demand Forecasting KPI targets
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Lead BU meetings and consensus meeting to align and agree on one demand forecast numbers. Analyze and flags significant risks as well as variances between forecasts inputs from Business Units, Finance, and SCM.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Operations to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.
  • Generate various demand forecast reports and presentations.
  • Manage and initiate continuous business process improvements related to demand forecasting, reporting and analytics.
  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.

Job Functions

Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:

  • Assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating the ship demand forecast. (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, customer forecast)
  • Revise forecasts and recommend changes on monthly basis based on actual shipment, trends, wins/losses, new product introductions, and revised sales plans.
  • Interact with sales, business units, marketing, supply chain and customer operations to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Develop top-down forecasting techniques for specific markets by using external market indicators.  Drive top-down and bottoms-up forecast reconciliation.
  • Analyze, define, and implement forecast methodology leveraging product and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Continuously improve forecasting techniques, method, and approach to improve the forecast accuracy and minimize forecast bias.
  • Use and maintain the Demand Forecasting tool/s as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Update and develop demand planning reporting and provide insights, trend that might affect forecast and business decisions.

Key Results:

  • A customer demand forecast which incorporates current and accurate market information that allows the company to correctly predict customer demand and provide its supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand.

Improved relationships among demand analyst and supply chain planners, business unit, sales, and finance, which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and an optimal consensus forecast to better guide the company. Refined systems and methods to continually improve forecasts so that the company can better anticipate customer needs. Execute with excellence in the area of customer replenishment and feedback to the Supply Chain group the opportunities and risks regarding customer replenishment performance metrics.

Job Requirements:
 

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or Operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
  • Strong experience and knowledge in reporting and analytics such as Enterprise Data Warehouse, QlikView, Power BI, or other software related to data management and analytics
  • Detail oriented with high regard for data quality/ accuracy and highly analytical
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Experience in analytics/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in Sales Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and/or Supply Chain is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI is a plus

Other Requirements:
 

  • Knowledge of SAP/APO-DP, BlueYonder Forecasting Tool or any other demand forecasting system is a plus.
  • Experience in semiconductor industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be a highly analytical, good team player, innovative, creative and can work gracefully under pressure.
  • Experience in managing virtual meetings.
