Position Purpose:

Works with internal and external clients to coordinate projects from consultation to completion including writing and design. Responsible for the creation, production, and coordination of marketing communications and educational materials (to include written copy, custom graphics, internal/external presentations, sales and marketing materials, documents, etc.) for several key internal and external clients

30% Reviews materials and information presented by client and discusses various production factors to determine most desirable presentation concept. Organizes and leads creative brainstorming sessions to develop creative concepts and executions.

Logistics:

This is a hybrid full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on-site at 4101 Percival Rd. Columbia SC, in an office environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Creates, writes/edits, completes lay out, and produces a variety of marketing and advertising materials (text, custom graphics, internal/external presentations, documents, videos, etc. ) for both outside vendors and internal departments. Selects appropriate media and design materials and ensures all materials have been reviewed/approved for content accuracy. Secures final approval of all marketing/advertising materials. Coordinates revisions, printing, and distribution of these materials. Provides technical support to staff and for on-site/off-site meetings and presentations and troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Responds to and completes Requests for Proposals (RFPS) for various health plans in timely manner. Works closely with management, subject matter experts and staff to develop high quality proposals. Assists with marketing campaigns, workshops, special events/meetings, and promotional efforts.
  • Plans, budgets/estimates, and manages the resources necessary to produce marketing and advertising materials. Communicates this information efficiently and effectively in order to gain buy in.
  • Prepares and submits activity reports (weekly/monthly/annual) as determined by management. Develops, writes/edits, and updates content for appropriate division's BCBSSC website.

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of progressive communications/marketing experience to include leading the design, development and production of communication or marketing pieces/materials.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the content/design/production process of marketing/promotional materials. Knowledge of design/art direction. Excellent judgment, customer service, presentation, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and grammar skills. Excellent analytical or critical thinking skills. Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of multiple graphic design software programs.

What we Prefer you to have:

  • Ability to conceptualize, target, and implement marketing strategies/campaigns.
  • Ability to translate business/product information into consumer language. Advanced knowledge of design/art direction.
  • Working knowledge of database software. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop as well as Microsoft Office.


Work Environment: Typical office environment. May involve some travel between office buildings. May involve some out-of-town travel. Work may involve transportation of materials
