Inventory Technician Senior

Position Highlights:

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 3pm - 11:30pm, Rotating Weekends and Holiday
  • Required Travel: Possible travel between sites if needed

Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Senior Inventory Tech serves as a lead to escalate and coordinate Supply Chain personnel. Ensuring proper procedures are followed daily regarding ordering, picking, & delivering of supplies. Duties also include assuring that tasks and supplies are routed in the most efficient way possible to maintain quality service levels.

What you will do:

  • Subject Matter Expert and resource to all aspects of the Supply Chain Operations functions including ordering, picking, delivering, receiving, dock logging, goods delivery, courier, etc. Assisting other staff members with problems as they occur and stepping in where needed.
  • Performs duties of an Inventory Tech & Receiving Dock team member(s) in response to workload demands and/or staffing shortages. Including counting, picking and delivering of supplies to maintain stock levels for an assigned Hospital department.
  • Assists in placing new stock in appropriate location following established rotation procedures and participates in annual and periodic inventory counts as directed.
  • Performs related duties including answering telephone calls, researching basic supply problems, informing supervisor of supply problems, and so forth.
  • Trains team members and monitors staff’s performance documenting findings to discuss with the Supply Chain Supervisor & Supply Chain Manager during regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Ensures shipping deliveries are checked in and compared to number of items, description and code numbers with information on packing slips.
  • Participates in monthly clinical rounds with the supervisor of central distribution, to engage clinical leaders and solicit constructive feedback aimed at improving departmental service levels.
  • Technology Integration: Adopt, leverage, and utilize the receipt management systems and tools including Workday and NiceLabel.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled department huddles and staff meetings and shares News and Events as needed.

What you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certification: A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested
  • Experience: 1+ years of shipping and receiving or healthcare supply chain experience.

  • Ability to maintain organized records and inventory/par lists.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and lifting required up to 50 lbs. Must possess ability to complete functions necessary to role and to present a neat and professional appearance; mental and emotional stability are necessary and must be aware of all times of hospital safety codes.

Equipment Utilized within the Scope of the Position: Working knowledge of personal computers, landline and mobile phones, handheld scanning devices, hip printers, forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and pack mule tuggers.
