Architecture Engineering Manager

Description -

This role is responsible for enhancing and enabling the architecture team and their efforts across the software ecosystem.  It will assist in supporting, designing, and developing architecture processes and team members' systems across the SW organizations. The role serves as facilitator, mentor, and leader in the software development lifecycle with a focus on enabling architecture design, reviews, and the team that supports these processes for successful product/project completion. The role instills and mentors an Agile and strong SW architecture culture both inside and outside the team and guides complex programs with multiple cross-team integrations across the company.

As a manager in the architecture team, you will work with architects that support the efforts of other engineering teams, and product and program management across the SW ecosystem.  The Print Software architecture team consists of senior architects who work across a wide range of projects.  As a manager for this team, the role will ensure that the delivery of architecture work is integrated with other SDLC processes and that team members are both supported in their work priorities and focus as well as career and skills development.

Responsibilities

  • Plays a critical role in the building of various software engineering projects and platforms while aligning them with business and architectural strategies and requirements.
  • Acts as a mentor and enabler for career development and growth of architecture team members
  • Partners with cross-functional software development teams to help them prioritize, plan, track, and execute complex, cross-organizational programs ensuring the successful enablement of architectural principles across the organizations
  • Leads the building of standards, and designs, and automates the deployment of software.
  • Assists in the creation of technology strategy and architectural roadmaps.
  • Leads portions of the planning and execution of multiple complex projects or programs in support of the continuing evolution of the organization's software products.
  • Maintains strong relationships with multiple functions in the organization & leadership to continuously identify potential opportunities in support of organizational strategy.
  • Assists senior leadership in setting the KPIs/goals, and budget for the team, and is responsible for performance management of the team.
  • Strategically partners with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
  • Translates functional plans into operational processes and guides execution.
     

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in software designing & development, software architecture, programming languages, or a related field.

 Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $137,000.00 -- $211,000.00 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
