Job Description​

The Opportunity

Saint Luke’s South Location is seeking a Supervisor responsible for the ongoing daily operations of the Materials Department. The Material Supervisor is responsible for the managing and leading of staff in the CSR. The supervisor is also responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of services within the hospital in accordance with the system and hospital mission.

Responsibilities:

  •  Lead a team of supply chain staff members in different hospital environments.
  • Supervising day-to-day supply chain activities related to receiving, stocking, inventory management and distribution of medical supplies throughout the hospital. Provide oversight to the ordering and distribution of linen and medical equipment on a daily basis.
  • Provide team members with feedback; mentor and coach to drive performance improvement. 
  • Supply training and development to talent for growth opportunities; support execution of performance management guidelines and expectations.
  • Train new team members and provide ongoing communication and training with all staff members as needed.
  • Manage time-off so that all departments have coverage and can fill department gaps when needed.
  • Must be able to communicate and report out on projects with LEAN concepts and tools to upper management.
  • Must be able to preform weekly/monthly huddles with team on events and general departmental discussions.
  • Accountable to aid in supporting an ongoing process to find, evaluate, and implement cost restructuring and cost reductions. 
  •  Implement controls to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure product quality by supervising the resolution of product issues on vendors/suppliers and coordinating the resolution of backorder problems and monitoring expirations.
  • Supervise product returns, expirations, substitutes and recalls.
  •  Ensure adequate levels of inventory, linen and equipment by supervising the receipt and distribution of all in multiple departments.
  • Align strategy with corporate sourcing strategy by supervising the processing of purchase requests, and correct par levels, while also supervising backorder related problems and finding and implementing cost savings opportunities.
