Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the position is responsible for leading and managing all operations within the Commerce Transload facility, encompassing port drayage, transloading/warehousing, and domestic outbound shipping. This role demands a strategic thinker with a strong ability to motivate and hold accountable office staff, drivers, and warehouse personnel.

 

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of operations within the Commerce Transload facility.
  • Manage port drayage, transloading/warehousing, and domestic outbound shipping processes.
  • Motivate and hold accountable office, driving, and warehouse personnel.
  • Apply critical thinking to understand and optimize the interconnectedness of all operational functions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address process gaps.
  • Perform deep dives into current and potential future challenges to develop practical and scalable solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 or more years of Transportation/Logistics experience and/or 4-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per J.B. Hunt standards
  • Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's:

  • Degree in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related fields with 4-5 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry with 4-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, and transportation management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically about operational functions and their interdependencies.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
