Southern Program Alliance based on the Frankston line is one of the alliances responsible for removing 110 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings as part of Victoria’s Big Build transport infrastructure program.

The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we currently have a vacancy for a Program Wide Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability Manager to lead the Safety, Environment and Sustainability teams on Southern Program Alliance.  This is a senior leadership role and as such you will be part of the Alliance Management Team reporting directly to the Alliance General Manager.

Key Accountabilities for the position will be:

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership across the Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability disciplines
• Responsible for the performance of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability across the entire program of works, from development to delivery, along with developing strategic partnerships both internally and externally
• Mentor, train and lead your direct reports and all field personnel in Alliance systems, the auditing process, behavioural compliance, change management, and continuous improvement practices and processes.
• Set clear performance expectations for project team members driving individual accountability and actively track and monitor performance, taking action to address underperformance where necessary.

• Tertiary Qualifications in Health, Safety and Environment or relevant demonstrated experience
• 10 years demonstrated experience as a senior leader in Health, Safety and Environment position within a related discipline such as major Rail or Civil Infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience in Incident Investigation, Return to Work and Managing onsite industrial relations when required.
• Current Driver Licence
