We are expanding our Global Engineering, Product and Operations presence in India. We are looking for a Site Leader in India (Tech and Biz) to build and lead our fast-growing India Technology Center, playing a crucial role in our technical direction and development of groundbreaking solutions in cloud networking. This role reports directly to the CTO and SVP of Engineering.

Role and Responsibilities

Technology Leader:

  • Act as a key executive partner to the CTO and SVP Engineering, significantly contributing to Aviatrix's product roadmap and overall growth strategy.
  • You will own the strategic roadmap and direction that shapes the strategic direction for engineering in India.
  • You will lead the day-to-day operations for Aviatrix’s technology center in India.
  • Plan and executes on a long-term strategy for India, including product, engineering, partnerships and M&A thsat are in full alignment with our global business objectives.

India Site Lead:

  • Build the Aviatrix India Engineering team as a center of excellence and drive site wide growth, culture and operations.
  • Strategically drive the engineering department, aligning with Aviatrix's mission, vision, and business objectives.

Customer advocacy: 

  • Proactively engage with customers and help foster and nurture relationships in business within India and in the region (APAC/Goes).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Understand customer needs and ensuring that their expectations are met.

Team Recruitment, Expansion & Retention: 

  • Oversee the recruitment process, building an initial engineering team size of 20-30 engineers with future growth expansion goals to grow to 100 to 150 people team in India.
  • You will attract, develop and retain great engineers and engineering leaders, who thrive working in innovative, user-focused, fast paced start-up environment

Measuring Performance Management:

  • Implement performance management systems and metrics to measure success in engineering.
  • Foster high performance and continuous improvement in alignment with business goals.

Project Oversight:

  • Ensure successful execution of projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams like product management and customer support to maintain exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Collaboration and Communication: 

  • Maintain effective communication across all team levels, promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency and shared success.
  • Ability to engage effectively with executive teams, and drive the technological vision of the organization
  • Work with other global and India leaders to improve and scale the India organization

Cultivate a Strong Work Culture:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and innovation that are in alignment with Aviatrix’s core values and objectives within the engineering team.
  • Balance innovation with operational efficiency in overseeing the engineering and product development functions.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and methodologies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Over 15+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in cloud networking or a related domain.
  • 8+ years of leading and managing engineering organizations for enterprise software and/or hyper-growth start-up software environments.
  • Track record of successfully building scaling and leading engineering organizations from the ground up.
  • Strong technical background, with expertise in cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI).
  • Expertise in advanced networking concepts (routing, SDN, IPSec, data-plane), and large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience leading through change in a hyper-growth environment
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the executive leadership team to drive technological vision of the organization.
  • Proven experience in attracting, hiring and retaining top engineering talent and engineering leaders.
  • A master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Your total compensation package will be based on job-related knowledge, education, certifications and location, per our aligned ranges.
