What you need to know about the role
Driven by a desire to create repeatable, efficient, and stable technical platforms, the Product Manager 3 - Technical is a customer champion for not only the clients of the platform, but the end users of the products that use the platform. As a core participant in the FPX Platform, you are vital to the ongoing roadmap, direction, and vision of the platform. You are critical to the evolution of the platform, building excitement about what the user needs, and championing the impact to the user and the company.

The product manager will be available for the teams to answer questions, work with developers and architects to address technical challenges, align on priorities, and explain and/or change requirements based on new information. You will also champion large-scale initiatives cross-discipline and work to confirm solutions meet the customer’s needs and is measurable against KPIs. In this role, you'll work alongside the best and the brightest talent in the industry. You will need to be dynamic, collaborative, and curious as we improve existing products and build the platform powering the top growth opportunity in PayPal.

Your day to day

  • Manage, design, and build world-class financial products and solutions for the customers/users of the FPX platform. 

  • Define and articulate through narratives, presentations, and documentation the vision and direction of their product. 

  • Responsible for the performance of their product and the KPIs related to it. 

  • Identify opportunities to improve their product and define the expected outcomes. 

  • Work closely with multi-functional areas across PayPal and different regions, including business and marketing partners, legal, compliance and risk. 

  • Work closely with development team in an agile environment. 

  • Manage backlogs and roadmaps. 

  • Oversee the product vision of functional domain of the FPX platform including interfacing with external vendors and service providers. 

What you need to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Computer Science 

  • Solid understanding of consumer and business financial products particularly installment-based lending products is a bonus

  • Background in consumer credit agency reporting a plus

  • Strong understanding of product management principles including road mapping, requirements gathering, and resource management 

  • Solid background in platform and engineering technologies including RESTful APIs, MQ, Events, and general software development principles within an agile environment 

  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) 

  • Ability to work with a wide range of functions ranging from business experts to developers 

  • Delivering high quality platform products that meet customer needs 

  • Passion for the customer, both internal and external

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$72700 to $176000
