Job Description:

Position Title:   Safety & Regulatory Coordinator

Shift: A- 11p-7a

Division:   Operations

Full Time Position

Department/Location: Human Resources/Stephenville

Title of Immediate Leader: Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Base Rate: 10G

Essential Functions:

  • Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and/ or ergonomic factors.
  • Plan, manage, and direct occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, and risk management for the organization, with full responsibility in terms of policy adherence, costs, regulatory compliance, personnel, and quantity of work.
  • Coordinate with employees and all and Site management to ensure that all potential hazards and issues are identified and that appropriate preventative measures are put into place.
  • Conducting and coordinating appropriate training to meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting and directing inspections, audits and incident investigations identifying issues and then recommending program improvement.
  • Establishing necessary procedures and work practices as multi layered defenses against human error to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace incidents.
  • Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Oversee all EHS compliance and training programs including those required by OSHA, EPA, DHS, DOT, wastewater, hazardous waste management, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Used Oil, Storm Water programs and all other required policies/programs associated with environmental, health, and safety.
  • Plan and implement programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Prepare studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspect organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Provide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Compile and submit accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with the investigation of injuries relating to Workers Compensation claims.
  • Ensure that employees are adhering to work restrictions once returning to work.
  • Prepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Maintain safety files and records.
  • Other job duties as assigned by manager.

Non-Essential Functions:                                                                                

Other duties as necessary to maintain operational effectiveness.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must have less than 3% absenteeism at the close of the job bid posting period.

Must not be under current probationary period due to any active disciplinary action.

Must have an overall Successful or better rating on their performance assessment.

Must score at least 20 on the Wonderlic WPT-R.

Candidate will be selected based upon interview and testing process, not by seniority.

Candidate will train on day shift and transition to night after training.

Applicants that are currently under job bid commitment, will still be considered for Office Technical positions.

                                                                                                                                                           

EDUCATION

X         High School Diploma/G.E.D.

College - Degree is preferred but not required

X         Computer - WPT-R Required

Other:

  • Successful partner will be expected to use various computer systems and applications including Power Point, Word, Excel, Oracle, Workday, Dakota etc.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential and non-essential tasks related to the job.
  • Must have proficient computer skills and be able to meet minimal score on all required testing.
  • Testing (Wonderlic). 
  • Successful Partners must follow and sustain process improvements, Food Safety, Partner Safety and Food Quality. Must maintain absenteeism below 3%.

Requirements:

  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills (additional skills testing required)
  • Must be self-motivated/goal oriented, driven, self-initiated with proven track record.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Understanding of basic plant processes and willingness to work on production floor to better learn and become familiar with all production processes.
  • Must be adaptable, willing to work any and all shifts as needed, whenever needed.

Due to the investment in training, the successful bidder will be required to stay in this position for a minimum period of 2 years.
