What You’ll Do
The Principal Email & Digital Direct Marketing is responsible for leading Discover Card’s strategy to acquire new cardmembers through targeted email and paid digital media campaigns. The role requires a strong marketing background and working knowledge of direct response marketing. Their primary focus in Card acquisition will be on the email channel and targeted digital campaigns. This person will partner with many internal teams including Creative, Analytics and Operations teams and external vendors to develop, execute and evaluate performance of tests and strategies. Candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent written and oral communications, and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsible for developing and managing channel product strategies and executions. Gathers and analyzes competitors, consumer trends, prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution. Develops and executes market tests to optimize business initiatives. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
How You’ll Do It
Manages the planning and execution for channel initiatives. Develops and executes market tests to optimize business goals.
Monitors channel performance and develops performance reports for management.
Gathers and interprets data on competitors, consumer, and industry trends. Evaluates data collection methods and identifies new data sources.
Collaborates with Discover teams to leverage email and digital platforms based on near term goals and longer-term learning agenda.
Identifies and evaluates external vendors to enable audience management and testing strategies.
Works with analytics team and email service provider / media agency to provide KPI/measurement recommendations and development of success criteria.
Successfully executes new partnerships through the contractual onboarding process. Proactively manages legal, compliance and regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate compliance across all channels.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
Bachelors Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Communications or related field.
6+ years experience in Marketing, project management, product management, analytics
in lieu of education, 8+ years in Marketing, project management, product management, management

Master's Degree in business, marketing, mathematics, engineering minimum, social sciences, statistics, economics, communications and analytics.
8+ years of experience in business, finance, marketing & advertising, advertising technology and platforms, project management, product management, analytics.

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
