SUMMARY: Control and execute all accounting activities at the company. Give support to the Accounting Director, with the financial and administrative processes and with the planning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Execute, coordinate and oversee, in coordination with Accounting Director, the accounting cycle activities during the month.
- Coordinate with the rest of the team the accounting tasks and responsibilities of each one, and supervise the different areas and solve issues.
- Perform, follow up and control all the month-end close activities with the accounting team, and coordinate it with the other areas.
- Prepare and reconcile the subledger of the balance sheet accounts assigned.
- Review and approve the subledger of the balance sheet accounts do it by the rest of the team.
- Prepare, coordinate and review with the team, the necessary reports requested every month.
- Perform weekly and final posting of accounting transactions and prepare the information of the monthly reports for the use of cost accounting area.
- Timely review and analysis of the expenses booked.
- Prepare, control, reconcile and coordinate intercompany transactions and continuous communication with corporate accounting department.
- Support the Corporate in transactions and special requests during the month.
- Review and approve local and international payments weekly.
- Prepare, review and approve journal entries of general accounting.
- To work with other departments in order to resolve issues that impact on the accounting process.
- Execute, manage and supervise internal control systems.
- Lead improvements on the accounting processes.
- Review and follow up on All Balance Sheet GL Accounts reconciliations and ensure timely update on Blackline.
- Develop and give support in the implementation of accounting - administrative policies and procedures on accounting process.
- Ensure statutory ledger meets local regulations and IFRS standards for local purposes as well as all the taxes area of the company .
- Support in the implementation of policies, procedures or others to assure the company follows the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), the International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or any other standard required by regulatory organizations or Corporate.
- Support the Corporate audit process and coordinate it with the CR accounting team.
- Prepare, manage and oversee audits process, both regulatory and Statutory Financial Statements.
- Support, coordinate and check over, any regulatory reports (for instance Operations annual report from PROCOMER – Free trade zone, but not limited to any of those).
- Provide ad hoc support or assistance of other activities of the Accounting or Financial departments.
- Follow up and support the development of the careers of the positions Senior Accountant and Accounting Assistance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor´s degree in Accounting, or Finance with proved experience with accounting processes.
- 5-6 years of experience working in financial/accounting areas.
- Basic Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting.
- Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle.
- English skills level Required B2 or higher.
- CPA and CPI (Accountant Certified by Colegio de Contadores Privados de Costa Rica y Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Costa Rica).
