What is the Global Corporate Tax group responsible for?

The U.S. International Tax team at Franklin Templeton ensures that all U.S. federal tax forms relating to international tax requirements for Franklin Resources, Inc. and its subsidiaries are met.  The team completes the annual and quarterly tax provision related to foreign operations including the foreign tax credit calculation. The team completes other tax compliance and tax research requirements including participating in special projects in support of corporate tax goals, objectives, and Federal legislation as directed by international tax management.

What is the Manager – International Tax responsible for?

The position will be responsible for supporting our U.S. international tax compliance, tax provision reporting and tax planning functions. This position will report to the Senior Manager of U.S. International Tax Team.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Manager – International Tax?

  • Actively manage and develop international tax staff

  • Manage and review U.S. international compliance forms (i.e. Forms 5471, 8621, 8865, & 1118)

  • Review U.S. international quarterly foreign income tax provisions including foreign tax credit, FIN 48, valuation allowance analyses, and 10-Q footnote disclosures

  • Participate in identifying tax efficient strategies for ongoing and proposed operational, structural, and legislative changes that impact the company

  • Assist with the development and implementation of tax efficient structures for international acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations

  • Advise the company’s treasury function on tax efficient investment strategies

  • Assist with U.S. federal and state income tax audits related to all U.S. international tax matters

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • 6+ years of corporate income tax experience with a strong working knowledge of international tax matters

  • Strong technical knowledge of US international tax matters, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, FTC, and E&P, etc.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving abilities, communication and organizational skills required

  • Excellent presentation, research and writing skills required

  • Ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Experience with ASC 740 accounting for income tax preferred

  • Big 4 or multinational company experience preferred

  • CPA and MS degree in Taxation strongly preferred

  • Experience preparing tax returns utilizing OneSource or CorpTax

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) required

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $145,000 - $175,000.
